Taking full advantage of the medium, Silver manipulates her canvas to configure three blocks of interest: molten black, fiery red and the underlying yellow orange ground. Competing for the viewer’s attention, they sweep, dip, elongate and compel dominance. Negative space becomes positive space. Blatant and mercilessly arresting, “Hottie” is a one-off creation.
